Westly's compositions contain elements of jazz and classical-style chamber works, as well as electronic and ambient , heavily influenced by artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto, C418, and Aphex Twin. Heflin’s interest in time, controlled chaos, and metric modulation, along with electronic and ambient music elements of precedent composers, inspire him to explore his fascination with the static nature of clocks, as well as the cyclical patterns of controlled chaos. Westly's music has been performed around the United States at festivals, recitals, and conferences.
